How To Use Tool or App

1. Download the application from your Apple iPhone APP store.

2. The app opens to featured talks that can be listed by date of upload, or number of views.

3. Users can also search for talks, browse all talks by theme, and click on the “Inspire Me” feature to let TED find talks grouped by adjectives like “fascinating, inspiring, or ingenious.”

4. From there, users can further edit their search by telling TED how much time they have for viewing, to help find a video that can be watched in the allotted time.

5. When the user finds a video to view, it can be played immediately, or saved to a list for later use.

6. Once the user hits the play button, the video begins.

7. The language can then be reset to one of the 90 choices.

8. The video can be paused at any time.

IDEAS for Tool or App

Student |

Students can use this app to find related content for their classes, which can supplement materials. The TED talks help relate real world content to the more abstract calculations learned in math class. This content can be used for a variety of assignments, classroom discussions, etc.

Teacher |

This app can provide a tie-in for math projects to introduce ideas of math thought (finite math) and math topics up for debate outside of the traditional math classroom.

These would be great for research designed around math lessons, and careers in which math is a focus, or a requirement.
